Possible Apple Event in September: Pretend Like You're Surprised
Posted 08/06/2008 at 7:20:23pm | by Roberto Baldwin

mean geneSure, we could all speculate that Apple intends to introduce new iPods and MacBooks in September. In fact, for the past three years Apple has hosted an iPod keynote in September, just in time for the holiday shopping season. Sure, we could say that. But we're not Piper Jaffray analyst, Gene Munster.

Well, Mean Gene Munster (we have no real evidence that he's mean, it just sounds cool) announced that it's likely that Apple will indeed hold a September event to introduce new iPods and possibly, maybe, redesigned MacBooks.

Gene expects larger capacity shuffles and nanos and a redesigned, lower-priced iPod touch. He also thinks we'll see Apple re-enter the $999 notebook market.

The new notebook price point creates a sort-of Sophie's Choice for the Mac|Life staff. Purchase a new MacBook or the I Am Rich app.
