Apple LogoLast week's fire at Apple’s Valley Green facility caused $2 million in damages according to a statement from the Santa Clara Fire Department. The cause of the fire, however, is still unknown.

The fire was initially reported to authorities Tuesday, August 12 at 10:21 p.m. Early reports stated that there was minimal damage and that the fire was under control by 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. However, according to the California Fire News Blog, the fire burned for more than three hours, indicating that it burned for some time before being reported. It has been reported that the initial call to dispatch had the address at 100 street numbers off.

According to the Blog, the second floor was subject to “heavy fire and smoke damage” and the second floor windows were knocked out for venting.” The roof also sustained damage.

The building housed mainly IT workers and there has been no word where those employees have been relocated to while repairs take place.
