We brought it to you earlier this morning that the MobileMe site was to go down this evening for some scheduled maintenance from 10PM PDT to Midnight. Some new details have come out as to what we could see from the new site, according to
AppleInsider.
The new site should bring about a finalized Mail update which is currently in beta version, some new UI upgrades, and a new iOS "Find My Phone" app.
Last year, "Find My iPhone" was introduced as a part of MobileMe that would allow iPhone users to login to their accounts on the web and track down their misplaced phone. The feature in itself has even become handy in tracking down iPhone thiefs!
Now, new rumors are popping up of an app that would allow both iPhone and iPad users to access remote lookup features right from their mobile device.
But wait, there's more!
In addition to the new app, other tidbits include that Apple should make a wide variety of upgrades to MobileMe, such as a new app switcher that would replace the current button bar for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Gallery, iDisk, Find MyPhone and Settings modules.
So if you happen to live on the West Coast and are able to stay up past the upgrade timeframe, leave some comments below on any new updates and your thoughts!
