Sure it's all fun and games to jailbreak until it leaves your iDevice vulnerable. But don't you worry, 'o jailbroken one, Apple is looking into it for you.
An Apple spokeswoman acknowledged on Tuesday evening that the company is looking into an issue about software vulnerabilities that are allowing remote control and 'jailbreaking' of the iOS device lineup.
The French security firm Vupen had posted an advisory about security flaws within Apple's iOS, and Apple spoke with Reuters, mentioning that they're looking into it.
What's at stake is that the vulnerabilities are being put to use by jailbreakme.com which givers users the power to unlock an iOS device, and use software that would differentiate from the App Store.
Just earlier today we mentioned how the user's phone can be easily exploited just by visiting a web page through Safari. That file would then contain a font, which someone may have mixed a viral program in with. Once the PDF is displayed, the stack overflow begins, and your control of your device is no more. The program could then install programs, wipe your phone, you name it.
In the meantime, while Cupertino investigates, surf Safari safely friends!
