Now that Apple has sent out its official invites for an October 23 event, we're fairly confident the iPad Mini is on its way. But Cupertino isn't likely to leave the stage without a few other announcements, and according to sources, new iMac units are on the menu.
9to5Mac claims to have received SKUs related to four iMac models, presumably making an appearance during the October 23 Apple event. Based on the "D7" and "D8" identifiers listed in the image, it would seem the four SKUs actually detail two variants within the 21-inch and 27-inch iMac models.

The two updated iMac SKUs seem in-line with recent reports. Back in September, word went out that Apple manufacturing suppliers were shipping two new models of iMac. But what of the third, "high-end" iMac mentioned in the report? At the time, it was said Apple was stricken with manufacturing problems with the panels.
Could the third iMac include a Retina display? Even if that's the case, I'm betting we won't see it next week.
More likely, the two iMac models will feature some traditional upgrades in regards to internals -- the last iMac update was over a year ago -- and maybe a slimmer design. Rumors are swirling about a strange-sounding "teardrop" shape, but just expect something a bit thinner. The new iMac models are expected to ship on October 24, the day after the event.
The new iMac models will join the rumored iPad Mini, 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina display, and revamped Mac mini. Personally, I'm still hoping Apple will unveil a completely redesigned Mac Pro, but I'm not holding my breath.
