The new Mac Pro has apparently been a huge success -- to the point that some customers still haven't received units that they ordered way back in January and December. As you might recall, Apple said at the time that orders wouldn't ship until February, and that's a problem since we only have a few hours left in the month.
MacRumors has the scoop, chiefly owing to tips from members of its community. One was told by an Apple representative this morning that a six-core unit ordered on January 7 would ship sometime in the next five to seven business days and not "in February as originally stated." Other forum users apparently reported the same.
That range still puts shipments within the first few days of March, and thus the delay appears that it's not as bad as it could have been. Still, that doesn't mean that orders won't be pushed back further. One user received notifications at the beginning and middle of the month stating that the shipment would arrive by the end of the month. Unless something changes by tomorrow, that won't be the case.
Current orders for Mac Pros are expected to ship sometime in April.
