It’s a date! Apple has made the rumored October 4 media event official on Tuesday morning with an invitation for the media to attend a shindig on Apple’s own campus. And there’s no mistaking what this event is about, because the subject of the invite makes it clear: “Let’s talk iPhone.”
The Loop and This Is My Next have both confirmed that Apple is sending out invitations to the media this morning for an event to be held at the company’s Cupertino campus next Tuesday, October 4 at 10am PST (1pm EST). That date was widely predicted by AllThingsD some weeks ago, although it’s still unclear if the iPhone 5 will be the focus or simply a spec-bumped iPhone “4S” as frequently speculated.
One thing’s for sure: The topic at hand will be the iPhone, as witnessed by the image on the invite seen above with the phrase “Let’s talk iPhone” at the bottom. Sure sounds like those rumors of voice control on the next model are true, doesn’t it?
