Black Friday is traditionally the day many retailers rely on to get “into the black” (i.e., profit) for the year. One company that doesn’t have to worry about that is Apple, although they still get into the spirit of things anyway.
Apple Inc. has posted a Black Friday teaser which touts, “The special one-day Apple shopping event” coming this Friday, November 26. Instead of hitting the crowded shopping malls and big-box retailers like Best Buy or Walmart this Friday, why not stay home in your pajamas and shop on Apple.com instead?
“Wrap it up this Friday,” Apple’s teaser announces. “Come back to the Apple Online Store the day after Thanksgiving for a special one-day-only holiday shopping event. You’ll find dozens of great iPad, iPod and Mac gifts for everyone on your list. Mark your calendars now. And until then, get started by browsing the Apple Online Store for great ideas.”
Interesting to note the order of importance that Apple lists its products in -- “iPad, iPod and Mac.” Cupertino must be expecting a major windfall for the iPad this holiday season, especially with the iPod line declining as the tablet and the iPhone pick up the slack. Speaking of which, looks like no deals to be found on the iPhone -- but it can’t hurt to check on Friday just to be sure.
Apple’s teaser hit their website overnight, and was also send via e-mail to anyone who subscribes to the company’s e-missives. You’ll have all day Friday to enjoy the deals on Apple.com -- the retail stores don’t participate. So what does everyone have their eye on this year?
