Love new Software Updates? That’s good, because Apple has not one but two versions of iTunes for you this week. If you already downloaded and installed iTunes 10.3 after Monday’s WWDC 2011 keynote, prepare to do it all over again, because iTunes 10.3.1 has arrived.
AppleInsider is reporting that Apple quietly pushed out an iTunes 10.3.1 update, a 75.8MB download available via Software Update. While we’re used to Apple published vague details on what benefits these updates provide, this one is more cryptic than usual -- as in, there’s absolutely no word about it at all.
iTunes 10.3 was released on Monday night and includes a beta of the company’s new iTunes in the Cloud service, which allows users to download previous purchases easily, push automatic downloads to all of your devices and also added iBookstore shopping to the media player.
MacRumors is noting that “a number of users in Apple’s support forums and elsewhere have reported issues with syncing iOS devices under iTunes 10.3, with iTunes reporting an ‘unknown error (-50’ when attempting to sync.” The website speculates that iTunes 10.3.1 could be a cure for the issue, although that theory is unconfirmed at this writing.
Anyone else seeing anything changed with iTunes 10.3.1? If you haven’t grabbed your copy yet, hit Software Update -- for some inexplicable reason, iTunes 10.3 is still the latest flavor on Apple’s website.
