While Apple was busy on Monday night seeding a new build of Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers, an inside source is claiming that the company may jump the gun and release the final iOS 4.3 build to users as early as Tuesday at 10am PST.
9to5Mac is reporting that Apple pushed out another build of Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers on Monday night, bringing the build number to 10J868. Apple claims there are “no known issues” with the new build, but asks developers to focus their attention on Safari, the Mac App Store, AirPort, Bonjour, SMB and Graphics Drivers.
While there’s no release date information on Mac OS 10.6.7, the increasing frequency of the developer builds would seem to indicate that Apple is winding down work on the next update to Snow Leopard 10.6, which is likely to appear sometime later this month.
Meanwhile, BGR is stirring up the hopes and dreams of iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users everywhere by reporting Tuesday morning that one of their sources claims that Apple will release iOS 4.3 to the public before Friday, March 11 -- as in today, Tuesday, March 8 at 10am PST (1pm EST).
BGR doesn’t speculate as to why Apple would bump up the public release, but maybe they want to make sure everyone’s schedule is cleared on Friday to go iPad 2 shopping at 5pm local time -- by making sure your older iOS devices are already packing the latest update. We’ll all know soon enough…
