Apple Server Farm in North Carolina Signed and Approved
In a bit of feel-good news in an economy that has seen more factories closing than opening, Apple's proposal to build a $1 Billion server farm in North Carolina has finally been approved and signed by the North Carolina legislature.
The major issue had been the tax breaks that Apple would be getting by expanding in the state, but the Governor, possibly desperate to create jobs during a downward economic spiral, quickly signed Senate Bill 575, which authorized the tax breaks. One of the provisions of the Apple expansion, is that they have to house the servers and create the approximately 3,000 jobs in one of the more economically distressed areas in the state. Now, it is up to North Carolina to build the infrastructure.
