With only a week of September left, there’s some electricity in the air as customers who preordered Apple’s new 27-inch LED Cinema Display are finally getting shipment notices, and early revamped Apple TV orders are getting charged and prepared for shipment as well.
MacRumors is reporting that folks who preordered Apple’s latest 27-inch LED Cinema Display have started to receive shipment notices from Cupertino, many of which appear to be scheduled for delivery on Thursday (unboxing videos, here we come!).
The new Cinema Display was not entirely unexpected, since Apple made available the LED Cinema Display Software Update 1.0 late Wednesday afternoon, a 75.79MB download requiring Mac OS X 10.6.4 which makes “several tweaks to users’ System Preferences options for the new display,” according to MacRumors.
The new Cinema Displays aren’t all that’s keeping Apple elves busy this week -- a number of customers are reporting that they’re seeing credit card charges appearing for their new Apple TV preorders, which is generally a sign that shipment will soon follow. Apple CEO Steve Jobs promised the diminutive black boxes would arrive by the end of September, and with the last day of summer behind us and the first day of autumn here at last, the end of the month is just around the corner.
Anyone out there seeing their Cinema Display shipment incoming or have an Apple TV getting charged on their plastic? Let us know in the comments!
