As promised by CEO Steve Jobs at the press conference a week ago, Apple has started processing refunds for iPhone 4 Bumper cases that were sold through their online store. Have you gotten yours?
MacRumors is reporting that members of their user forums are reporting that Apple has begun to process refunds for iPhone 4 Bumpers purchased prior to last Friday’s press conference. As you’ve probably heard by now, Apple’s solution to the “Antennagate” crisis was to give away free cases through the end of September, since having one on your iPhone 4 resolves any lingering signal attenuation issues -- even though the problem was far from widespread, despite a lot of media attention.
As part of the new policy, customers who have already purchased a Bumper from Apple are entitled to a refund, and that process has already started as of Thursday. Also included in the refund processing are existing backorders which haven’t shipped as yet. Earlier this week, Apple made the iPhone 4 Bumper cases unavailable on their website leading up to the free case offer.
Apple announced at last Friday’s press conference that they would allow customers to choose a case on their website starting later this week. As yet there’s nothing posted on their website, but it’s expected to come later today or over the weekend, so stay tuned to this channel for more news on that.
