If you were thinking about heading out to an Apple Store this afternoon to pick up an iPod or maybe a Mac, we’d advise you to steer clear of the place, at least between 4 and 5 pm.
9to5Mac is reporting that Apple has indeed confirmed the store closures for their U.S. retail outlets today, April 30th, which marks the arrival of the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G that many of us have anxiously been waiting for. If you’re one such individual, you’ve probably endured mockery from your peers as they showed off the iPad they bought on April 3rd, but fear not -- your patience is about to be rewarded!
To prepare for the iPad 3G launch, all Apple Stores in the U.S. will close up shop for one hour, between 4 and 5 pm, with the new Wi-Fi + 3G model going on sale as soon as the doors reopen. It will be interesting to see how much traffic the stores get for the new 3G-enabled model of the device, especially after such a strong launch for the Wi-Fi only model earlier this month.
Our iPad 3G model is already en route via FedEx and should be here by 3 pm today, but how about you? Anyone heading to your local Apple Store for the big 5 pm grand reopening?
