In what seems like a never ending list of lawsuits against Apple, there's always room for one more. A
lawsuit filed Tuesday by
EZ4Media, a company specializing in wireless entertainment devices based in Illinois, states that Apple's Apple TV, Airport Express, and Apple Macintosh personal computers infringe on EZ4Media's patents.
The patents under investigation are U.S. Patent No. 7,130,616, 7,142,934, 7,142,935, and 7,167,765. EZ4 collected to patents from Universal Electronics back in March. The company claims that Apple hired three former Universal Electronics employees about a year before it introduced Apple TV. One ex-employee,
Nick Kalayjian states that he had no involvement with the development of the Apple TV.
Apple itself is currently defending more than 21 patent infringement cases, and it is easy to see where ideas and products can overlap with those of other patents.
