Apple TV Gets Updated, Breaks Boxee and Other Hacks [U]
If you're just a regular Apple TV owner without all the hacks that extend the device's features, you should be just fine updating to Apple TV 2.3.1.
If you're all about Boxee and other third-party add-ons. You may want to steer clear of the latest Apple TV update.
As of the time of this posting, Apple hasn't updated their Apple TV support page with information on this update. If you find any exciting changes to the device with the update, drop your report in the comments below.
UPDATE: A recent tweet from Boxee's Twitter feed claims that running the patchstick after the 2.3.1 update will bring Apple TV and Boxee back together again. We tested the Mac|Life Apple TV after the update, and the patchstick did indeed work.
Thanks Boxee and tsella

I noticed there is one other thing that seems to be new about this update
in TV shows ratings such as 14+ or 18+ (Common in Canada) now seem to show up they werent there prior unless using common rating such as R or PG-13
this applies to user created content... im unsure if this reflects itunes store bought purchases but i would assume it does

this update, as previous ones, removes the added entries for boxee in the menu. repatch-sticking the atv brings all the good back.
