Apple Updates All iPods, All Available Today

Apple has updated its full like of iPods, all available today. The iPod nano headlines the the changes, rolling in a video camera, voice recorder, and more; other iPods have been more modestly tweaked.
Shipping in a rainbow of colors, the iPod nano keeps the prior model's size, but stretches the screen to 2.2 inches. Clips captured from the built-in video camera can be uploaded to YouTube automatically when synced. Plus, Apple added a voice recorder, speaker, FM radio, and support for Voiceover voice control.
The updated iPod nano is the first iPod to include a built-in pedometer. Like prior models, this device can sync to the Nike+ website to track running goals, but it doesn't require special Nike shoes or an external transmitter.
The 8GB nano costs $149, while the 16GB model costs $179.

Apple says that the updated, top-level iPod touch devices--at 32GB and 64GB--are up to 50 percent faster than before. The internal speed bump adds support for OpenGL ES 2.0, which could especially boost game and video-heavy tasks. Otherwise, the iPod touch keeps the same physical shape and external features as before.
The 32GB iPod touch costs $299, and the 64GB version costs $399. The 8GB iPod touch skips the speed change and costs $199.
The iPod shuffle gains new colors but otherwise stays the same. a 2GB version costs $59, and the 4GB version is $79. A polished, stainless steel 4GB edition costs $99.
And the iPod classic bumps its hard drive up to 160GB. It's the same as before otherwise, keeping the $249 price tag.

Why didn't they add the same updates that they did to the nano to the I-touch? The announcement didn't seem so big after seeing what was new. I was hoping for a netbook!
