iLife ’11 owners, start your engines! There are a couple of software updates available from Apple this week for your downloading pleasure -- more specifically, one for GarageBand and one for iMovie.
Apple posted two updates to its iLife ’11 suite on Tuesday which “improves overall stability, addresses compatibility and a number of other minor issues.” The two updates bring GarageBand to version 6.0.1 and iMovie to version 9.0.1, respectively.
First up for music lovers is GarageBand 6.0.1 (better known simply as “GarageBand ’11”), which fixes an issue related to undoing Flex Time edits, removes occasional latency that can occur on guitar tracks and restores the ability to use the Quantize Note Timing menu for tracks with Groove Matching. The update is a 47.5MB download, available via Software Update or direct from Apple’s support website.
Also available for download is iMovie 9.0.1, a relatively minor update to the version included with iLife ’11. Included are fixes for an issue where stabilization would not be applied correctly to some video clips from iPhone or iPod touch as well as an issue that prevented use of some valid Facebook passwords that contained non-alphanumeric characters.
iMovie 9.0.1 also improves compatibility with some cameras that create content in multiple formats, as well as improves performance when scrolling the Project Library, which is always welcome. iMovie 9.0.1 is a 27.52MB download also available via Software Update or direct from Apple’s support website.
