In a strange new patent by Apple, the company has discovered a way to make you the star of your own comic book. The patent, which was revealed by Patently Apple, describes a potential app that could take your game play history and compile it into a comic book that you could edit, read, and share with friends.
The idea is that the application could track your progress throughout a game on your Apple device, including any chats between users, dialogue between characters, and other general information. Then, the application could throw all of that information into a mixing bowl and create your very own comic book, with your character as the star.
According to the patent, "A book, e-book, or comic book may be produced from the narrative data structure. The electronic device may send the e-book to a user of the electronic device, or send the narrative data structure to a server for printing."
If Apple does in fact continue with this idea, it could be tied with Apple Print Services to provide an actual comic book you could show off to friends, or turn into a nice coffee table book. It is worth noting, however, that Apple (like many companies) file lots of a patents at one time; many of which never see the light of day as an actual product.
While this application would definitely appeal to many comic book fans, we couldn't help but wonder if the application would appeal to the mainstream iOS audience.
