According to some nifty math work over at The Mac Observer, it appears we can say definitively that Apple's proposed new headquarters will have a bigger footprint than the Pentagon.
Other massive things the "spaceship" can claim size superiority over: a blimp; a WWII aircraft carrier; a supertanker; the Empire State building.
John Martellaro at The Mac Observer did the calculations, using some high tech tools like Google Maps and low tech tools like, well, a ruler. Add in a little math, and John came up with a radius for the Pentagon of 783 feet.
The new Cupertino headquarters for Apple will come in at about 807.5 feet.

It was not that long ago that we ran the story about Apple having more cash in the bank than the U.S. Government. Now it looks like they will have the building to go with it.
