B-movie horror fans have a lot to be excited about today as it was announced that the cult classic 90s flick Army of Darkness is being adapted into a tower defense game by Backflip Studios. The game will feature Bruce Campbell/Ash himself using his famous boomstick and chainsaw hand to keep the forces of darkness at bay.
You may remember Backflip Studios from some of their other extremely popular games on the iPhone. They're probably best known for their iOS game Ragdoll Blaster, but it's hard to say given that their other free game Paper Toss has been downloaded more than 24 million times since its release.
Details are still sparse on the Army of Darkness title at the moment. All we really have to go on are a few developer comments and a screenshot. That said, the announcement is still very exciting. Backflip Studios is more than capable of making a game that appeals to fans and newcomers to the series alike.
The studio is said to be gearing up for an April release.
