Back in March we reported on the announcement of an officially licensed iPhone game based on the legendary cult-classic Army of Darkness. Today that game arrived in the New Zealand App Store which means there's a very high likelihood the game will be arriving in App Stores around the world in the coming hours.
The game is played in a castle-defense style with undead hordes throwing themselves at your defenses. In a way, the game looks to borrow an element from iconic castle-defense game Plants vs Zombies [iTunes Link]. Before each match it looks as if you have to select which units you'll bring with you into the battle. It also looks like you'll have some special spells that you'll be able to bring, although specific details are difficult to glean at this point.
Army of Darkness Defense will be available soon for 99 cents, so if you're a fan of Bruce Campbell's undead antics it's time to get excited. We can't know yet whether the game is actually worth playing, but 99 cents is a small price to pay for some nostalgia and fan service. Check out the video below to get a taste of the skeleton-slaying that's in store.
