Aspyr Announces Duke Nukem Forever Coming to Mac in August
Other Mac games should prepare to cower in fear as the “ass-kicking, cigar-smoking, beer-chugging and babe-lovin’” action hero Duke Nukem will finally be arriving on the Mac this summer to save “Earth and our babes from hordes of invading aliens.”
Aspyr Media, Inc. announced that Duke Nukem Forever is officially coming to the Mac platform this August in a partnership with 2K Games. The title will be available for sale on Steam, where it will support both Steamworks features and Steam Play and can be preordered from the company’s website beginning today.
"We are thrilled to play a part in bringing this gaming experience to the Mac,” said Michael Rogers, President of Aspyr Media. “Duke Nukem Forever represents many of the best aspects of gaming: shooting aliens, saving ladies in distress, and great tag-lines. We think Mac gamers will love taking a bite of Duke’s special pain cake.”
If you’ve stepped anywhere near a video game console in your life, you’re no doubt already familiar with Duke Nukem, and Duke Nukem Forever is the high-octane equivalent of a Hollywood summer blockbuster, starring the legendary lady killer and alien slayer. The Mac port of the game promises to “bring gamers back to a blastastic time when games were filled with head-popping, bone-rattling action, brazenly crude humor, impossibly statuesque women dying for affection, and catchy one-liners.”
If you simply can’t stand the excitement, Duke Nukem Forever for Mac is ready to preorder now at a discounted price of $44.99, a savings of $5 over the regular price. Be sure to check the store page for minimum and recommended system requirements as well as all of the supported video chipsets before buying -- and then just sit back and wait for the calendar to turn to August so you can get your game on!

If you have been anywhere near the internet for any length of time recently, you should know that this game is nothing to get excited about. I have it for PS3 and while it is not unplayable, it just isn't any fun for any length of time. A few one liners here and there will make you chuckle, maybe, but that's it.
