While Thanksgiving might be a fine time to spend with family, we have a feeling there will be fewer Mac users at the dinner table this year, thanks to Aspyr Media unleashing Borderlands 2 just 48 hours before.
Aspyr Media, 2K Games and Gearbox Software jointly announced on Thursday that the sequel to Borderlands will be landing on the Mac in less than two weeks. Borderlands 2 will drop on November 20, which should give Mac gamers a reason to skip Black Friday this year.
The sequel to the critically acclaimed, four-player cooperative "shooter-looter" that combines first-person mayhem with role-playing gameplay, Borderlands 2 promises to live up to the mantra "bigger, better and more badass" with all-new characters, skills, environments and loot than ever before.
"Aspyr prides itself on bringing the best in gaming to the Mac audience.” said Ted Staloch, Vice President of Aspyr Media “Borderlands 2 is definitely among the best. Most sequels have a hard time living up to the first, but Borderlands 2 manages to improve on every cool aspect of Borderlands, and still finds a way to wrap the player up in a new story with a new experience."
Borderlands 2 brings players to the world of Pandora, with the goal of taking down the notorious Handsome Jack and his corrupt Hyperion Corporation, either in a solo campaign or with up to four cooperative players.
Rated M for Mature, Borderlands 2 for Mac will arrive in both digital as well as boxed formats on November 20, with a Mac App Store version to follow later in the year.
