U.S. carrier AT&T is no stranger to the app game, but this week they're jumping into the photo sharing racket with a new service for storing, syncing and sharing images, videos and documents in one safe, convenient place.
AT&T announced the debut of Locker, the carrier's new cloud storage service offering easy access to your data from any computer as well as iOS or Android devices.
AT&T Locker comes with 5GB of free cloud storage, which is upgradable to 30GB for only $3.99 per month or even 100GB for just $9.99 each month. The service allows users to store photos, videos, documents and even music, although notably, music files cannot be shared, even though the other file types can.
"Now you can access content on your phone anytime from virtually anywhere," the carrier explains. "AT&T Locker provides easy access to all your photos, videos, documents and music. And uploads are synced and organized so it's easy to find what you want when you want it."
Sharing options include email, Facebook or Twitter, and the service includes apps for both iOS (sadly not a universal build for the iPad) and Android. Files can also be accessed from a Flash-based website using most any computer and web browser, and signing up for AT&T Locker is absolutely free by creating a new AT&T Access ID, which can also be used with wireless, phone, internet or U-verse accounts as well.
