We've heard a lot about how the diminutive size of the iPad mini is a great thing. You can use it with one hand, it fits easily inside a bag, etc. But it also turns out the iPad mini is just about the perfect size for installing it in your car's dashboard.
As noticed by 9to5Mac, the team at SoundWaves in Tampa have managed to custom install an iPad mini into the dash of a Toyota Corolla. Check out the video below for a look at the install in action.
A quick touch on the side of the dash unit opens the system, allowing the iPad mini to slide inside. Then, SoundWaves hooks the iPad Mini up to an installed audio system. Listening to Pandora is effortless, not to mention the use of any iOS app. Hey, you could even navigate with Apple's Maps! OK, maybe not Maps.
Since the 4G LTE iPad mini isn't released yet, we're assuming SoundWaves is using a mobile hotspot--or even WiFi in the garage.
It's amazing how SoundWaves pulled this off so quickly, right after the iPad mini went up for sale. If you want more information, be sure to check out the shop's Facebook page.
