According to Geoff Marshall, a BBC Interactive Operations Engineer, BBC's immensely popular iPlayer app is coming to UK iPads this Thursday, February 10. Marshall let this particularly juicy tidbit slip in a recent tweet:
"iPlayer App for iPad is being released this Thursday - 10th Feb. 3G connection is browse only. Browse+Playback requires Wi-Fi. #iplayer"
Currently you can view iPlayer content if you're in the UK on the iPad via a website, but very soon you'll be able to do the same with a native app. And native apps just make everything better, don't they? The iPlayer app will initially be iPad-only, and won't be available outside the UK until June, when it hits the US.
Soon we'll all be able to watch Top Gear the way it was meant to be seen: on our iPads!
