We may still be several weeks away from the official "back to school" season, but that isn't stopping Best Buy from getting into the action early. As reported by AllThingsD, the giant electronics retailer is scaling back the prices of its two bestselling MacBook Pro models by $200.
Fascinatingly, the core sale doesn't seem limited to students. As a part of the promotion, Best Buy slashed the price of its 13-inch MacBook Pro (4 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Drive) to $999.99, down from $1,199.99 and the price of the more powerful 13-inch MacBook Pro (8 GB RAM, 750 GB Hard Drive) to $1,299.99, down from $1,499.99.
If you're a student (or at least someone who still retains an e-mail address that ends in .edu), you can earn an addition $100 off of those prices by registering with Best Buy's Student Deals site. The sale is expected to last until Saturday, July 27.
If that's still not as agreeable as you'd like, be sure to check out our article from this morning on the latest deals on refurbished units, which includes a 11.6-inch MacBook Air priced at $749.
