The busy bees at Boxee have unleashed a whole swarm of goodies today: their first iPad app, a firmware update for its set-top box, and new Boxee Media Manager software.
"Our new iPad app is accompanied by the Boxee Media Manager, a new Watch Later bookmarklet and new firmware for the Boxee Box," according to a Boxee blog post.
The Boxee goal is a scenario that allows users to bookmark some video content on a computer away from home, begin watching it on the train home using an iPad 3G, and then finishing it up on the couch via the Boxee box.
Boxee also says that the iPad app will gives users a place to discover, watch, and share video from the web and their computer. The app was built "to be useful for any iPad user, even those who have never heard of Boxee before, but it has the added benefit for current Boxee Box users that you can send video to your flat screen through it."

The firmware update brings Boxee to version 1.2, killing bugs, bringing OS X Lion and HTML5 support, and cleaning up the app layout.
The new Media Manager software, for PC or Mac, delivers a way to stream locally stored videos from your computer to a Boxee-enabled display. Boxee's blog also states that Boxee will be able to stream videos to your iPad via Wi-Fi, no matter the format.
Boxee has also included an experimental part of the release that allows AirPlay functionality, so that when you click on the specific button on your device you'll see Boxee Box as one of the target devices.
