Drinking and driving is no laughing matter, but how can casual drinkers know when they've had too much to be on the road? Starting this summer, they'll be able to plug the Breathometer into their iPhone and find out immediately.
Breathometer, Inc. announced Wednesday the launch of the world's first smartphone breathalyzer. Available for preorder starting today and shipping this summer, Breathometer is no bigger than a typical car key, but works with a free mobile app to keep drivers safe.
The small widget plugs into the headphone jack of any compatible smartphone, transforming it into a mobile breathalyzer capable of measuring the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of anyone who blows into it.
“Breathometer wasn’t created just to address the risks associated with drinking and driving, but to help people, their friends and family, all to make smart and safer choices when consuming alcohol," explained Charles Michael Yim, Founder & CEO of Breathometer. "Real time BAC measurement is the first step.”
Available for both iPhone and Android when it debuts this summer, Breathometer can be preordered starting today as part of the company's Indiegogo campaign. A $20 pledge secures your place in line for one of the first Breathometers, but customers can also pledge as much as $500, for which they'll receive a lifetime upgrade of all Breathometer products.
