Say hello to our little friend! For some reason, carrier Telekom started receiving a package of shiny new nano-SIMs -- and the blogosphere is going nuts assuming they're for a new iPhone.
9to5Mac is reporting that T-Mobile (aka Telekom) received a package containing nano-SIMs this week, along with a message to stay tuned as to exactly what they will be used for.
"Dear partners: You will receive today a new generation of SIM cards for the latest generation of smartphones that come in the near future on the market," the translated message discovered by iFun reads. "Sort your SIM card please first not in their cards in hand and give it not out to customers. We will inform you shortly about how to proceed."
Of course, the logical assumption is that these are for the sixth-generation iPhone, given that Apple fought long and hard to get their nano-SIM design passed earlier this year.
There have been conflicting reports on whether or not the new model will actually debut the diminutive card, but we sure can't think of another reason why this would be out in the wild right now.
Apple is widely expected to introduce the next iPhone at a media event next week, although the company has yet to make an announcement or send invitations to the press. UPDATE: Apple issued invitations to a September 12 event this morning.
