CEO Says Ad-free Hulu May Be a Possibility

Last week's Hulu Plus news wasn't as high profile as some though it would be. While Hulu fans were ecstatic over the larger selection of television episodes and movies to watch, they were also hoping for something a little more…ad free. Fortunately, Hulu CEO Jason Kilar has said that an ad-free Hulu is a possibility after all, though he did tell NewTeeVee that he didn't see a problem with the advertisements because consumers already pay for monthly cable with a ton of long winded commercial breaks.
Kilar also added that in the premium content distribution business, there are plenty of different business models that are competing against each other, with plenty more to come. He also used television stations like HBO to show as examples of premium subscription only channels that charge subscriptions and still air commercials in between shows.

This guy must've forgotten about On-Demand, which allows us to skip the commercials altogether and never bother with them, it's not like anyone ever bothers to watch the commercials between movies either on channels such as HBO, Starz, etc… Your not being forced to watch them and be interrupted during your viewing pleasure when your paying for stations like that, and when it comes to digital content from the web, we don't want to pay for that crap either… Which is why Starz, Showtime, The Movie Channel, etc. and their On-Demand counter parts, are much more viewed channels when it comes to movie watching than any other channel… It's one thing to force that ad crap on people when they aren't paying for it, it's another totally when they are!
