This may not sound like too big of a story at first blush. However, consider that Chillingo was the publisher behind two previous efforts in the iOS physics-puzzler genre. Two little games that go by the names Angry Birds and Cut the Rope, and all of the sudden this story takes on a whole new level of significance.
Chillingo has been phenomenally successful in the genre so when they announce a new game we pay close attention. Developed by Holy Water Games, Feed Me Oil is a much different game from the previous two mega-successes, but still seems to retain the same charm that made those two games so enjoyable.
The objective is to feed oil from a broken pipeline into the mouth of giant land-masses using magnets and giant fans to push and pull the oil around the screen. It's very strange, but also looks like a ton of fun. The puzzles are said to have multiple solutions (which is always great news for a puzzle game) and the game's art style is vaguely reminiscent of the World of Goo. Which, we suppose, is appropriate given that both games deal heavily with black, oily objects and a sense of environmentalism.
You can check out the launch trailer below to see the game in action. Feed Me Oil released earlier today and is currently available for just 99 cents.
