Apple has taken an important baby step towards being able to sell the iPad in China, a move bringing much happiness to Chinese Apple fans and a wee tear to the eye of Chinese knock-off tablet manufacturers and gray-market vendors.
According to Networkworld, while Apple has yet to make any noise about their tablet's availability in the massive Asian market, the iPad has been certified as good to go, so far as the China Quality Certification Center is concerned.
With Apple showing more and more interest in penetrating the massive Chinese market, it seems very likely that once all of the bureaucratic hurdles have been cleared and the supply chain makes it a possibility. Given the effect that the iPad had on Apple's previous quarterly financials while only available in North America and select areas of Europe, just imagine what even mediocre sales in a ginormous market like China could do for the mobile tablet.
