With fast internet access and more services and even full applications moving to the cloud, it's always interesting to see how developers continue to refine and enhance their product offerings, including two from Adobe and Bitcasa.
Adobe has announced new pricing for the company's cloud-based screenwriting and scripting software, Adobe Story. The new lower pricing actually kicked in on December 3, which is certainly a nice early Christmas present for creative writers.
Adobe Story is now available for $9.99 per month, a steep drop from the company's previous pricing of $24.99 per month.
The subscription service offers a cloud solution for outlining ideas, writing scripts with automatic formatting and collaborating online, and even helps plan and schedule video projects, organizing production reports and even leveraging script metadata in post-production.
Meanwhile, up-and-coming "infinite storage" cloud service Bitcasa started teasing "something big is coming" this week, with both emails to beta users as well as a blog post on its website.
"A new Bitcasa is on its way," the teaser announced Monday evening. "Our Bitcasa elves have been working tirelessly to make sure we deliver the most spectacular gifts of the holiday season. Get ready for bells, whistles, and a whole lot of magic. Don’t believe us? Stay tuned for launch this week. It just may be your favorite present this year."
Bitcasa promises more details on Tuesday, and judging from the teaser, the company will be releasing its mysterious new offering later this week.
Update: TechCrunch has spilled the beans ahead of the announcement, with Bitcasa introducing Android and Windows 8/RT apps starting Tuesday, with iOS and Mac apps scheduled for early January.
