Remedy Entertainment, a studio that normally specializes in console gaming, has announced that it's first ever iOS release is available in the App Store now. It's called Death Rally [iTunes Link], and it's a drastically upgraded adaptation of their fifteen-year-old classic PC title of the same name. If you've been looking for a little bit of Twisted Metal on your iPhone this may be just the thing you need.
Remedy is best known for their most recent release, the Xbox 360 game Alan Wake. At least some of that fame is infamy due to Alan Wake's extremely long development time though (over five years by some accounts). They're also well known for developing the Max Payne series of noir action shooter games.
Death Rally isn't a complex game. The object is very simple: drive fast, kill everyone in your way. Though, as games like Twisted Metal have shown in the past, that combination can be far greater than the sum of its parts. It was released on the PC way back in 1996, and now this new version is available exclusively on iOS with upgraded graphics and modernized gameplay. You can check out a video of Death Rally in action below. It's available now for $4.99 on iPhone 3GS, 4, iPod Touch 3rd or 4th Gen and iPad (iOS 3.2 or later.)
