Conficker Worm - Not a threat to Macs, Yet
The mysterious Conficker worm is being covered by the media as the worst thing to happen to computing since Facebook changed its design. The worm affects millions of Windows machines all over the world. The WORLD!!!! This world-wide menace is set to activate itself on April 1, 2009. What its nefarious plans are, no one knows for sure.
What we do know is that Macs are immune to the evil deeds of the Conficker worm. We're not going to go on, and on, about how Macs are safer than Windows. So relax Mac users, enjoy the expected onslaught of faux-news tomorrow and remember to point your Windows owning friends to Mac|Life sister site, and arch nemesis, MaximumPC.com for tips on how to eradicate the fiend.

I can't believe I read this line on the Mac|Life website: "If you're going to make a virus, you shoot for the biggest target."
Seriously? I expect this out of a Windows troll but not out of the Mac|Life staff. This is one of the biggest loads of BS that is out there as to why the Mac is safer than Windows. If virus writers are looking for the most bang for their buck wouldn't they get much more notoriety by taking down huge numbers of Macs than they would being just another one of the thousands of Windows viruses?
There are a ton of other reasons why Macs are safer than Windows computers that rank much higher than this reason.
