What do monkey waiters in Japan have to do with the iPhone, Apple's notebook announcement, or Apple TV? Absolutely nothing. Although, they could have iPods at home.
The Kayabukiya tavern in Japan has recruited the owners two pet monkeys to help serve customers. The sake house's owner, Kaoru Otsuka noticed his pet monkey, Yat-chan, copying him while at work. Mr. Otsuka realized his pet monkeys were capable of working in the restaurant. He added some cute outfits and the monkeys were ready to go.
Local authorities have certified Yat-chan and Fuk-chan as suitable to work in the tavern. Both monkeys bring towels and beer to customers and are tipped with soya beans. The monkeys only work two hours a day, due to Japanese animal rights regulations. No word on if the monkeys are discussing the formation of a monkey servers union.
Mr. Otsuka is already training a new staff of monkeys which is sure to eventually lead to a planet of the apes. Don't say we didn't warn you.
