Last year, OMGPOP's Draw Something was a runaway hit on iOS devices everywhere. There was a time when it seemed like nothing could stop the hype train that was this Pictionary-like, asynchronous multiplayer drawing game. But after Zynga acquired the title -- well, things went south. Now, it seems OMGPOP is hoping to rekindle that fire with a sequel.
As noted by TechCrunch, TV host extraordinaire Ryan Seacrest apparently sent a tweet out this afternoon, using a #DrawSomething2 hashtag. "I somehow convinced them to give me #DrawSomething2 first," tweeted Seacrest. "This may be the best Mariah & Randy have ever looked."

OMGPOP head-honcho Dan Porter then tweeted back with a logo for Draw Something 2. So…there you have it. Apparently, you can expect to see Draw Something 2 in the near future. There are no other details as of yet, like release date or features, however, Porter did mention "new ways to draw and connect."
What's more interesting is how this "announcement" was handled. Seemingly, one has to assume Ryan Seacrest was compensated for the endorsement. And frankly, it's hard to believe he drew that picture of the American Idol judges. Hooray for Twitter marketing.
Last year, Zynga paid over $180 million for OMGPOP, only to see the original Draw Something plummet, as interest waned.
