The first trailer revealed of the new game Dream:scape begins with a scarecrow speaking in a sympathetic tone, "You probably think you're dead, don't you? I'm sorry, you're not." Any game weird enough to begin with a sentence like that is definitely going to get our attention. What follows is a game that could be one of the most interesting we've seen in iOS gaming.
Not a whole lot is known about Dream:scape at the moment, but it apparently takes place in some sort of purgatory. The narrator goes on to explain that the world you see around you is populated by your memories. The places, people, and enemies are all related to your former life. It never says as much, but it implies that a big part of the game will revolve around unlocking secrets of your past and figuring out how your memories tie together.
The game is being developed using the same graphics engine as the gorgeous Infinity Blade [iTunes Link]. This is great news for users looking for a top-flight experience, but probably bad news for people with older iOS devices. No info has been released on device support though.
Maybe it's unfair to start throwing around praise when the game has still yet to be released, but this type of game is exactly what we've come to love about iOS gaming. Say what you will about the successes and failings of the iOS platform vs consoles, but you almost never see a game this strange and risky appear on the high-profile consoles and handhelds.
Dream:scape is currently in the approval process with Apple, so unless it gets an Unpleasant Horse-style rejection we should see it appear on the App Store within the next week or two.

I've found MANY developers taking risks on games for the PS3 and 360. You'll hardly ever see them on disc though because they (just like iOS games) are downloadable titles on PSN and XBL.
I AM however very excited for this game. Looks like it could be a very interesting break from Cut the Rope.
