Excited for the impending release of Duke Nukem Forever? If you are, then be sure to hop on over to the App Store to pick up this fun little freebie. It's a little soundboard of the King himself offer up a few choice words of wisdom and classic one-liners.
Gamers across the world can hardly believe it, but Duke Nukem Forever is actually ready to be released next month. It's the end of an epic saga of a titanically comical video game development. The game has been in development hell for fourteen years, experiencing an incredible number of delays. The comedically poor project management was, of course, compounded by the fact that it's called Duke Nukem "Forever". We were admittedly half-afraid the Rapture would actually come last Saturday just so God could prevent the release of this game.
Some eagle-eyed fans spotted a seemingly random mention of an iOS version of Duke Nukem Forever in the terms of service for DNF earlier this month. The world quickly assumed there was an iOS version on the way, but according to the press release we just received this soundboard is what they were actually talking about. So sorry to let all the DNF fans down, but on the up-side, at least it's free. And you'll be able to bust out choice lines like, "Anybody mind if I take off my pants?"
Oddly, though the soundboard is only applicable with 3GS or later iPhones, 3rd gen iPod Touches, and iPads. We're a little confused as to why such a low-spec app wouldn't support older phones. Sorry 3G owners. No freebies for you.
Duke Nukem Forever will be released on June 10 for $59.99. The game wont be released on Macs, but can technically be played on one if you have OnLive.
