In the mobile gaming world all of the attention is focused on San Francisco for the Game Developers Conference, but that hasn't stopped EA from launching one of its biggest games of the year. Fight Night Champion, EA's new boxing game, is now available for iOS devices.
Fight Night Champion [iTunes Link] is one of only a very few releases in the boxing sub-genre on the iPhone. The challenges posed by the touch screen interface as well as boxing's niche (and not traditionally tech-saavy) fanbase have likely caused many developers to shy away from adapting the sport to the iPhone.
That said, Fight Night Champion looks spectacular. Though we haven't had hands-on time with the game yet, it seems like EA has spared no expense in bringing this title to life in the way the 'sweet science' deserves. The graphics are phenomenal, and also feature real likenesses of some of boxing's greatest warriors: Muhammed Ali, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Oscar De La Hoya just to name a few.
FNC is currently selling for $4.99 and is compatible with all iOS devices running iOS 3.0 or later.
