We all knew that the iPad was going to be fast, and early users of the unit do in fact, claim it to be just that. However, some new benchmark tests out seem to be proving just that same fact, according to DownloadSquad.
The tests used were the Javascript SunSpider tests, and the iPad out-performed the Nexus One by 38%! While the margin of 10% when it comes to website load times isn't exactly high, a win is a win right?
What's leading to the iPad being a "speed demon"? Why it's Apple's A4 system-on-a-chip of course! When it was compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU used in the Nexus One, they both came in with a 1 GHz speed. But, Apple being Apple, know one really knows just exactly what the A4 chip is. AnandTech also feels that the iPad's battery could be behind the peek in performance.
