Last year, EyeTV maker Elgato introduced an iPad version of its DVB-T TV tuner at the IFA show, and the company is back this year with new models aimed at both the iPhone as well as supported Android devices with a micro-USB edition.
Engadget is reporting that Elgato has introduced new EyeTV hardware at IFA 2012 on Thursday, bringing the company's DVB-T TV tuner to the iPhone as well as Android 4.0.3 or higher devices who meet the hardware requirements.
"Thanks to highly efficient chip technology, the new EyeTV Mobile is just half the size of any other TV tuner for the dock connector," the press release notes. "Despite its ultra-compact enclosure, EyeTV Mobile can be used with different aerials to get the best possible reception both on the move and at home."
The new EyeTV Mobile will work with both the iPhone as well as iPad 2 or third-generation iPad, essentially replacing last year's model in a more compact frame. The dongle will be available in September from Elgato's online store for GBP 89.95 £.
Meanwhile, the separate EyeTV Micro has also broken cover at IFA, bringing the portable television fun to Android devices thanks to the use of a micro-USB port in place of the dock connector.
"It will be available in September for Android devices with a dual-core CPU, NEON support and Android 4.0.3 ('Ice Cream Sandwich') at a price of GBP £54.95 through Elgato's online shop and resellers," Elgato announced. "The EyeTV Micro app is free and is available on Google Play."
Elgato also showed off its Game Capture HD hardware at IFA, which allows PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 gamers to record, edit and share their gameplay using a Mac or PC; that hardware is now available direct from Elgato's website.
