iTunes is great for purchasing, organizing, and syncing your music, but when you just want to listen, there's Everplay.
Everplay is a stand-alone media player that will allow you play music from your iTunes library without even opening iTunes. The music player is similar to other "iTunes remote apps" that will control iTunes, but your music is displayed in a CoverFlow-like interface that allows for easy navigation. You can also search through your music to find a particular artist or song.
Everplay also lets you stream music from the Last.fm online radio service. You can "scrobble," ban, love, share, and comment on music from Last.fm as well.
There is one drawback to Everplay: It doesn't let you play purchased iTunes content encrypted by DRM, which mainly consists of older songs purchased in the iTunes Store.
Everplay is available from the developers website for $20. There is also a trial version available.
