Flash May Someday Come to iPad Thanks to Flash in a Pinch

God bless those enterprising developers! Just because Steve Jobs and the rest of the Apple gang have thumbed down Adobe Flash on their iDevices, doesn’t mean that other folks aren’t working hard trying to find a way to do it. One of the latest is a service called Flash in a Pinch -- but don’t get too excited just yet, it’s only a proof of concept for now.
Engadget is reporting how the folks at Artefact Group have been hard at work on a new service called Flash in a Pinch. The idea behind it is as simple as it sounds: To get Adobe Flash running on your iDevice, and they even have a video proof of concept (embedded below) to show that it does indeed work, sort of.
“Flash is rendered on Artefact's servers, which streams the images to the user's Safari browser,” Engadget explains. “By placing a Javascript layer on top of the content, the user's touch interactions can be sent back to the server, making the whole megillah fully interactive.”
It’s not all wine and roses, however -- the Flash display is a bit slow to be useful and there’s no sound at the moment, but it’s a good start as to what might be possible in the future. One thing’s for certain: As long as Apple intentionally keeps Flash off their iDevices, somebody else will be hard at work trying to figure out a way to get it on there anyway.
