A prince in a foreign land told Mac|Life he has a crate of iPads that could not be sold.
Prince Stevie Abacha said in an e-mail he has come across a shipment of 288 iPad devices, which did not sell in his country due to a lack of support for indigenous languages.
"Greetings in the NAME of OUR GREAT LORD," the prince wrote. "I am FAMOUS prince. Stevie Abacha. If in good hoping you have heard my name ABACHA. I am contacting you to propose a financial agreements."
Abacha said the devices are equipped with Wi-Fi and can store 16GB of data, Abacha said. That gives the iPods a value of about $144,000.
"Each of these APPLE IPAD could NOT be sell in my country," Abacha wrote, offering to send all 288 in a single shipment for free.
"Unfortunately, at present time my moneys are mandated to pay for various obligations, so I can not afford to pay for international shipments of the CRATE," Abacha wrote, asking Mac|Life to provide its checking account number and routing number to facilitate shipment.
"Only the costs of shipping the crate will be taken," Abacha wrote.
Mac|Life expects to have 288 iPads to give away next week.
