Fortune has awarded the dynamic duo of Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ives slots on their annual list of the 50 Smartest People in Tech.
The list of fifty was agreed upon after Fortune consulted with 100 "trusted advisors." What makes you a candidate for their list? You've got to be smart and the stuff you tinker with must have an impact on the world at large. In addition, there's a few other elements that set their nominees head and shoulders above the competition.
"None of Fortune's smartest get by on brains alone. They are disciplined, hard-driven perfectionists. James Cameron (Smartest Hybrid) spent 15 years on his Academy Award–winning film Avatar. Likewise, they maintain the courage of their convictions, even in the face of great skepticism. When Mark Zuckerberg (Smartest Founder) introduced Facebook's News Feed, users revolted; now they consider it a core element of their online experience."
The awards will be doled out at Fortune Magazine's annual Brainstorm Tech conference in Aspen, Colorado later this month.
