If you happen to live in New Zealand, you can already enjoy the free fun of Temple Run 2. For those of us in the U.S., it's going to be a long day waiting for it to arrive in the App Store in our time zones.
TouchArcade is reporting that Temple Run 2 hit the App Store in New Zealand on Wednesday morning, which means it should be tromping across the time zones and landing in the U.S. later this evening.
For the few who may not know, Temple Run 2 is the official sequel to the runaway hit by Imangi Studios in cooperation with Fuzzycube Software. While casual mobile gamers may wonder what could be left to do with a sequel, early word from TouchArcade is that Temple Run 2 is a worthy followup to the original.
"I've been playing Temple Run 2 for the past day, and for the most part what wasn't broke has not been fixed," writes Jared Nelson of TouchArcade. "Right from first boot up you'll get a sense of deja vu as the camera sweeps in on the cursed idol that has been the cause of so much running over the past year and a half.
"You're still being chased by freaky monkey creatures -- well, just one giant creature, actually -- and you're still using a combination of swipes and tilts to jump or slide past obstacles and collect coins," the report concludes. "This is totally Temple Run."
Temple Run 2 will be free when it lands in the U.S. App Store on Wednesday night, so keep hitting the link to grab it as soon as it pops up there.
