So, you have a fancy new HDTV, and maybe an even fancier home theater receiver. But unless you're a whiz with audio-video setup, getting just the right picture and sound can be a daunting proposition. Thankfully, theater certification masters THX have released an iOS app to help even the most confused enthusiast.
THX tune-up will help you calibrate your HDTV's picture and sound with easy to understand guides. After downloading the app, you'll need to connect to your television with AirPlay through Apple TV or an AV-to-HDMI adapter. Keep in mind, the AirPlay option limits your calibrations to video only.
Once the app is connected and running, you'll run through a series of tests to tune-up your HDTV. THX can help you set brightness, color, tint, and contrast to the perfect balance.
Even if your TV is a few years old, or you're an A/V connoisseur, THX tune-up seems like a really handy way to make sure you're getting the most out of your investment.
